Poetry Out Loud Competition, Monday, Dec. 5 at 7PM

  • Universal Preservation Hall 25 Washington Street Saratoga Springs, NY, 12866 United States (map)

The students of Saratoga Springs High School will be presenting and taking part in the annual Poetry Out Loud event, a national competition.

Come join us for a night of poetry and acoustic music performed by high school students. Saratoga High School classroom winners (grades 9-12) will participate in our school-wide competition for Poetry Out Loud. Students will recite both classic and modern poetry. Winners move on to the regional competition.

For more information about this national recitation competition, please visit poetryoutloud.org

Poetry Out Loud encourages students to learn about great poetry through memorization and recitation. This program helps students master public speaking skills, build self-confidence, and learn about literary history and contemporary life.

Since 2005, Poetry Out Loud has grown to reach more than 3 million students and 50,000 teachers from 10,000 school in every state, Washington, DC, the US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.

The event is free and open to the public but we ask that you register in advance for the event so we can approximate our audience size.
